about

The bulk of this song was written in the Netherlands in the Fall of 2016, and then finished in Spring 2018 in Montreal. It was then recorded in the dank deliriums of the Summer of 2019 at 4534 St. Denis in Montreal.

It's a track about the duality of acceptance, and how even accepting difficult things comes with a certain kind of catharsis and growth.

It's that dichotomy of being awake at 4am and being overcome with a stark realization - almost being absorbed by it - and feeling numb to the vastness of it... but then also, slowly processing and coming out of it on the other side with some sort of understanding that some things are just a part of you, and you need to learn how to cohabitate with them, and to let them inform how you grow and move on from things, not dictate how you live presently.

"In a dream you saw a way to survive, and you were full of joy" - Jenny Holzer

about

Ocean Charter Of Values Nova Scotia

As Ocean Charter of Values, Nova Scotian singer songwriter Nicholas Laugher plots a course through sparkly indie rock by way of saccharine 90s pop, and the overwrought melodramatics of 16-bit RPGs.
